Ca dei Maghi is a small producer, nestled in the hills of Valpolicella, near to the center of Fumane. It was established in the 1950s, when Valpolicella was a very prolific style of wine, in terms of the quantity produced. The first generation were at the forefront of what is now known as agriturismo in the region. Nephew Paolo Creazzi took over this family business in 2011 and has quickly made it an excellent estate, and definitely one to watch.
This is textbook Amarone, full-bodied, rich and exploding from the glass with dark chocolate, cinnamon and liquorice notes. The palate is packed with ripe plum and dark cherry fruit, encased in fine soft tannins.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
