Ca dei Maghi is a small producer, nestled in the hills of Valpolicella, near to the centre of Fumane.. It was established in the 1950s, when Valpolicella was a very prolific style of wine, in terms of the quantity produced. The first generation were at the forefront of what is now known as agriturismo in the region. Nephew Paolo Creazzi took over this family business in 2011 and has quickly made it an excellent estate, and definitely one to watch.
Taken from the estate's finest single vineyard, this is Amarone of the highest class. Balancing the typical weight and intensity of Veneto's iconic dried-grape wine with an uncommon freshness for the region. Beguiling aromas of dried red fruits, tamarind and freshly ground coffee fill the room when you pour the first glass. A taste reveals more layers of spicy complexity, blackberries and mouthfilling soft tannins.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
