70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Canaiolo, 5% Cabernet Franc, won silver at the International Wine Challenge 2016, certified organic. Barco Reale is the younger version of the Carmignano from Capezzana, made from fruit sourced from slightly younger vines in the same vineyards. It undergoes temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats, then is matured in 25 hectare-litre oak vats for twelve-months before release. It is rounded and ripe in style, with cherry, plum and spice, good tannins and a long, elegant finish.
Rich nose yet with tension and minerals, savoury hints and aromas of peach pannacotta with herbal notes. The palate is rich with a creamy mouth feel, white stone fruit combines with minerals and fresh herbs. Dry finish with mineral acidity and powerful, persistent length.
