This is a distinctive and characterful wine made from the Portuguese Ramisco grape. Harvested from ancient un-grafted bush vines cultivated on the sandy cliff-tops of Colares DOC.
It is a lean and wonderfully elegant style of wine that finds balance between sweet and sour red fruits with subtle savoury nuances. These wines have the potential to age to age very well so, whilst it should now be ready to drink, there would be no harm in laying down for a few more years, if you can restrain yourself.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
