Respectively founded in 1923 and 1960 Cave de Chaintre et Cave des Producteurs de Juliénas merged in 2013 to form a union between Burgundy and Beaujolais. The people who make up les Vignerons Associés work relentlessly to produce consumer friendly wines with an emphasis on respect for the terroir, innovation and production of a large selection of outstanding wines.
The Mâcon-Chaintré is grown on the limestone / clay soils of the Mâcon-Villages appellation. The grapes grown here benefit from a warmer climate than other parts of the Macon and produce wines with intensity and richness balanced by the lovely fresh minerality found in all great Burgundy. Cuvée Quatre has been specially selected for its delicate aromas of peach with hints of citrus and its ease of drinking. The wine is matured on the lees for 12 months.
Fresh and fruity bouquet that prevails onto the palate. This wine is a crowd pleaser thanks to its structure and finesse. It’s ideal served as an aperitif, with a starter or with shellfish.--------------------------------

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
