Cambon la Pelouse is situated on the border of Margaux. In the outstanding 2015 vintage the wine is a blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak, 50% of which is in new barrels.
The proximity to Margaux is evident in the elegance and fresh red fruit of the wine. This is a traditional, medium-bodied claret balancing its fruit aromas with earthiness and a touch of sweet spice from oak ageing.
It is fantastic at the table, particularly with game, roasted meat or mushroom-based dishes.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
