Chateau Lanessan is just outside the prestigious St Julien appellation and delivers the fine Cabernet-led character associated with its (far more expensive) neighbours. The 2011 Lanessan is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.
This is a traditional Bordeaux, from a concentrated vintage opened up by bottle age. The bouquet balances blackcurrant, herbal and spicy oak notes and the palate has excellent finesse through its lingering finish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
