The wines made in the Ventoux appellation are very similar to those of the Cotes du Rhone title and employ much the same combination of grape varieties. The region is dominated by red wines with less than 6% of plantings being white varietals so this is a rare treat!
Chateau Unanng has created an organic blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Clairette. The vineyard is clay-limestone soil, with deep pebbles and are in the shade of the Monts du Vaucluse, protecting the plots from the sun which is imperative for keeping the wines fresh and keeping the alcohol low.
The wine is floral and rounded with pear and mineral flavours, showing the characteristics of Roussanne nicely.
