The Hereford Chase Distillery is best known for its award winning potato vodka and subsequent range of sustainably produced British spirits. Here we showcase a new venture from owners William and Kate (not the Royal ones), since they purchased Chateau Constantin in Provence.
The grapes for their Sellardore Rose come from the 20Ha of vineyards planted in the 1960s. These produce a wine with stone fruit flavours and the herbaceous character expected from this region. Grapes achieve the perfect ripeness with the hot mediterranen climate crucially moderated by the infamous Mistral wind. A pleasing mineral structure is influenced by the gravel soils and although this is a pale and light wine, it finishes with a beautifully creamy texture.
