It was in 1971 that the Audoy family, who already owned Cos Labory, a 5 th Classified Growth, bought Château Andron Blanquet. The principles of Grand Cru production apply to this 'new' addition. The vines are treated with the same respect and the two estates produce wines using the same principles.
This is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
The nose is a wonderful combination of aged characters mingled with still vibrant, albeit slightly stewed fruit. It has wonderful length and texture on the palate, the acidity still providing great lift, and tannins some grip. This is a wine that will go a bit further, but is drinking wonderfully well already, once it has had some time to open up.
