Zagare Vermentino (Sicily) - £8.99
Named after the delicate white flower of the lemon tree. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, spending a short period on fine lees. Lemon zest and fleshy peach flavours with a crisp, mineral finish.
Balbuzard Sauvignon Blanc (France) - £10.99
This wine opens with fruit-driven aromas, big hints of grapefruit and citrus with a slight vegetal undertone. The palate is fresh and clean, exactly how Sauvignon should be, with citrus notes being joined by gooseberry, juicy green apple and hints of classic Loire minerality. Lovely and dry on the finish.
Secateurs Rose (South Africa) - £12.99
AA Badenhorst is a family run estate, owned by cousins Hein & Adi. Their family have over 50 years’ experience in South Africa’s wine industry, with their grandfather managing the iconic Groot Constantia.
100% Mourvedre. A sophisticated rose with delightful hints of cranberry, redcurrant coulis and wild roses. A textural, gastronomic example, ideal for food matching and drinking in the spring months.
Delicious with a vegetable tart, salad, bbq fish and chicken.
Iris Malbec (Argentina) - £8.99
The wine is fermented and aged in small oak barrels for six months. It is a bright, floral, juicy style of Malbec, you could even slightly chill it, if the weather suits! A pretty wine, made for easy drinking.
Caparzo Sangiovese (Italy) - £11.75
Caparzo vinifies Sangiovese to three grades: Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino and this wonderful and ever-popular little IGT Toscana. It's bright in every way: in the glass it's a ruby colour with hints of violet; in the mouth it's intensely fruity, with a warm brambly feel, loads of ripe blackcurrants and strawberries, and a persistent spicy finish.
Very fun to drink, either on its own or with pasta dishes with big rich sauces and powerful flavours.
