Château Thivin is one of the benchmark Beaujolais producers and one of the oldest. It's also one of our very favourites, it consistently over delivers and Butler always has a bottle to hand as its a superb all rounder and crowd pleaser.
It's made from old vines, traditional whole-cluster fermentation and aged in very large old oak barrels which results in a dense and beautifully aromatic range of wines with great structure. ‘Les Sept Vignes’ is a blend of the estate’s holdings in the Cote De Brouilly.
From a superb vintage for the region, the 2017 is now showing beautifully, with heightened complexity and delicious silky tannins. Cherry and strawberry fruit, aromatic spices and a stony mineral quality on the long fresh finish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
