Cote du Danube Pinot Noir 2018

£11.49 GBP

There was a time when most supermarket shelves were full of tasty, good value Bulgarian wines. This has sadly not been the case in recent years. So we were happy to be presented with this new pair of wines, and will now look for others from Bulgaria.
The Cote du Danube wines are made by Chateau Burgozone who are based on the hills above the Danube river, no surprise there! There are a lot of winemaking cooperatives in Bulgaria, Ch Burgozone make wine from their own fruit.
The Pinot Noir is great value. It's aged for nine months in french and Bulgarian oak. It's soft, very approachable, it has dark cherry flavours and soft tannins.
