Coteaux du Giennois 2015 France. The appellation is just up the river from the more famous and pricey Sancerre & Pouilly Fumé (this wine coming from just 4kms north of Pouilly), and has long been overlooked due to it's famous neighbours. The wine is a light, green flecked straw colour to the eye with a rich nose of grassy, nettly citrus. The palate is lean and very fresh with great intensity and acid-fruit balance. There's bags of greengage, spiced lemon, light tropical fruits alongside more traditional Sauvignon traits. The finish is really long and very satisfying. Pair with fresh fish, sushi or just light nibbles and you're onto a winner.
