Coume del Mas was created by Philippe and Nathalie Gard in 1991. The domaine now has 15 hectares of vines, mainly on the steep slope around Banyul Sur Mer.
Here, in the south of France, winemakers are not shackled by strict regulations, there is a freedom to explore.
This is a part of France where it is not typical to see the Chenin Blanc grape, but we don't care, because it is delicious. This grape variety, more at home in the Loire, shines under the care of Philippe and Nathalie. It is fresh, fruit driven, with a moreish freshness, it has a lovely long, dry finish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
