One of the largest organic producers in New Zealand that also producers some of the best Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir. The owners have been making wine in the region for many years and James Healy, one of the founders, was pivotal in the progression of Cloudy bay. Dog points first bottling was the 2002 and made by the 4 owners together, now its mainly run by the next generation of the family.
Its no secret that the Dog point Pinot is similar in production to some of the greats of Burgundy, with a small portion going into whole bunch fermentation (25%) which spends a total of 18 months in oak (30% new).
