One of the largest organic producers in New Zealand that also producers some of the best Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir. The owners have been making wine in the region for many years and James Healy, one of the founders, was pivotal in the progression of Cloudy bay. Dog points first bottling was the 2002 and made by the 4 owners together, now its mainly run by the next generation of the family.
This is an intense, precise sauvignon blanc with grapefruit, citrus, and a subtle, more tropical hint of passionfruit. This is a powerful wine that's long and linear, with strong varietal definition that's made more interesting with a hint of reductive character (struck flint).
