A beautifully crafted white Burgundy from a small, family-run estate in Solutré-Pouilly, now in its fourth generation. Farmed sustainably and largely by hand, the domaine follows traditional methods, fermenting and ageing the wine in large oak tuns. The oak adds texture and depth rather than overt flavour, allowing the fruit to shine.
This Pouilly-Fuissé offers a harmonious balance of flinty freshness and rich complexity, with vibrant citrus and stone fruit flavours layered with subtle honeyed notes. The oak is seamlessly integrated, supporting the wine's structure without dominating it. This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
