Javier Dominguez has been a driving force behind the emergence of Ribera Sacra in the world of wine. In the late 90's Javier's family bought a 140 hectare plot of land along the Bibei river of which 45 hectares is under vine, they focused of bringing indigenous grape varieties back to the forefront of production. There are much easier places to produce wines but they wouldn't have the character and connection to the land like these wines do.
This is Javier's fresh and fragrant style of Mencia, the vines are high on the hillsides with a selection being over 100 years old. It's these low yielding vines that create the concentration in the finished wine.
