Fresh out of their studies in oenology, close friends János Hajdú and Krisztián Farkas united their efforts in 2007 to establish the Bodrog Bormuhely Winery. This marked the culmination of a winemaking journey that had profoundly shaped both of their lives. János had been nurtured in a family deeply rooted in winemaking traditions spanning generations, while Krisztián's pasion for the craft had evolved through a career as a sommelier and wine merchant.
Collectively, they founded their winery in Bodrogkisfalud, a locale situated nine kilometres away from the town of Tokaj. Notably, in 2015, they embraced organic practices in their approach. Their winemaking technique harmonizes traditional and contemporary methods, yielding an annual production of around 6000-10000 bottles. This approach results in wines of remarkable quality, characterized by their expressive nature.
The grape composition for this wine is 70% Furmint and 30% Hárslevelű. An intricate bouquet teeming with hints of apple, quince, and pineapple. The Tokaj region's characteristic freshness and liveliness are complemented by a gentle fruitiness, culminating in a protracted finish supported with mineral undertones.
This wine pairs exquisitely with seafood dishes, as well as finger foods and tapas boasting a savoury character. Its inherent versatility finds harmony with salty elements.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
