Fattoria di Calappiano Brunello di Montalcino Officium 2016

With a fascinating history, dating back to Medici Florence in the 1500’s, the Fattoria di Calappiano as we know it today is made up of 200 hectares of vines, planted alongside the olive groves and woodlands of this natural heritage site. 

This is a lovely rich, flashy style of Brunello. Ruby red in colour with fragrant spices and ripe red fruit, this wine is rich with notes of juniper, humus, light floral undertones and with hints of liquorice and black pepper. On the palate it is crisp and fresh, medium bodied, with good acidity and well integrated tannins. Black cherries and a touch of dried herb and some toasty oak is closed with balsamic and spicy notes.

Perfectly paired with red, braised meats, game and aged blue cheese.
