Franciacorta, also known as the Champagne of Italy, is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the traditional Champagne method and usually comes from the Province of Brescia DOCG in Northern Italy.
The Ferghettina producers have achieved the squaring of the circle thanks to the eye-catching, square-based bottle used for Milledi. First used for the 2007 vintage – the triangular, flattened sides provide a surface area around two and a half times greater than that of a standard bottle, giving more lees to wine contact and therefore greater complexity.
On top of all that, Ferghettina are now in the process of organic conversion and have grown to become one of the finest Franciacorta wineries.
Fresh and elegant with white flower and citrus notes on the nose. The palate is complex yet elegant with brioche and more citrus characters giving it lovely weight and texture. The mousse on the tongue is fine and persistent indicating the excellent quality of this wine.
This will pair a number of grilled fish or poultry dishes - but also try with sushi.
