In the high coastal ridges of the Sonoma coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean owners Lester and Linda Schwartz were told by academics that it was too risky plant a vineyard on these cool, foggy coastal ridges so close to the Ocean, however they were undeterred. After experimenting for several years with assorted clones, rootstocks and trellising systems they concluded that the property had the potential to grow exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
This 2021 Fort Ross Sea Slopes Pinot Noir is a fruit forward, savoury experience crafted with the highest care. Balanced extraction of flavour and aroma compounds was achieved with cool early morning harvest and extended cold soak, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and ageing in 80% neutral and 20% new French oak barrels. Enjoy the seamless integration of natural acidity, rich flavours and soft tannins for a truly luxurious drinking experience.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
