Gabriel Meffre is a renowned winery located in the heart of the Rhône Valley, established in 1936. With a deep respect for tradition and the environment, the winery produces exceptional wines that reflect the rich diversity of the region. Known for crafting elegant, balanced, and terroir-driven wines, Gabriel Meffre combines sustainable practices with expert winemaking to produce some of the best examples of the region.
This vintage was marked by abundant sunshine throughout the spring and summer, reminiscent of 2003, the result of this unique year is a vintage of white wines that are both delicious and generous. Blended from White Grenache, Roussanne, Viognier and Clairette, the grapes are sourced from two distinct terroirs: Grenache and Viognier thrive in the clay and sand soils of eastern Gard, while Roussanne and Clairette are grown on limestone soils in Vaucluse.
The harvest took place early in the morning to retain primary fruit aromas. All grapes were pressed together, with careful lees settling at 3–6°C to enhance aromatic potential. This vegan-friendly wine offers a pure expression of its terroir with vibrant aromas and a beautiful golden colour. Elegant and fresh on the palate. Well-balanced with floral, lemony notes and sweet white fruit flavours. Long satisfying finish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
