Rising star, Gian Luca Colombo, grew up in the Langhe area of Piedmont. His winery Segni di Langa in Roddi, Piedmont, comprises of 4 hectares of vineyard land. Here Gian Luca takes an intuitive approach to his winemaking with a minimal intervention ethos. Using sustainable practices, he is working towards Organic and Biodynamic conversion. Respect for the environment, respect for the terroir and respect for grape varietal purity is paramount.
Pelaverga is a lesser known red grape from the hills of Piedmont, grown in only in the Cune province. Hand-harvested grapes are fermented in stainless steel and the wine is aged in amphora.
Typically pale in color, with floral aromas of rose and geranium and raspberry fruit
A piedmontese wine which drinks well when young and, when slightly chilled is a bright and fresh option for the summer months.
Works well with light meat pasta dishes or appetizers typical of the region.
