A very special single cask bottling from our friends at Adelphi, this time from the excellent High Coast distillery in Sweden. Located 63 degrees north in Bjärtrå, their style is equally inspired by Islay and Japanese whiskies, and is shaped by the natural features of their unique location - freezing cold water from the Angerman river cools their stills, and the extreme day-night temperature variation changes the way the spirit reacts with the barrel during ageing.
This 10 year old expression comes from an Oloroso sherry hogshead, unchill-filtered and uncoloured at the cask strength of 57.1% for an outturn of only 320 bottles.
Rich dried fruit and praline notes from the sherry wood along with light wisps of woodsmoke. The palate is elegant and smooth, belying the robust abv with a lightness of touch and notes of apple crumble.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
