Quinta da Raza is a family estate with a commitment to sustainable and high-quality production from vineyard to bottle. The result, a blend of Azal, Arinto and Trajadura, is a light white with subtle petillance and oodles of crisp green apple fruit alongside a hint of riper pineapple.
1 x El Tesoro Verdejo Castilla Leon 2022 (Spain) - £8.9911%
A superb value white from the west of Spain, this Verdejo makes a splendid alternative to a Sauvignon Blanc. Citrus fruits, particularly grapefruit, are complemented on the nose by hints of pineapple. The palate is light and dry, with green apple fruit and herbaceous notes. A wonderful wine to pair with salads

From low-yielding vines on stony clay soil in the warm Swartland region, this is a lovely example of the often overlooked Grenache Blanc variety. Despite it's modest ABV this is a fuller-bodied white with notes of apricot and warm spices, ideal for pairing with strong flavours - its especially good with middle eastern and mediterranean cuisines.
1 x La Bacca Nerello Mascalese 2023 (Sicily) - £9.75 13%
Made with 100% Nerello Mascalese, this native grape is generally regarded as Sicily's finest red variety. It is late ripening, retaining high acidity in hot conditions. It has a red fruit profile, predominantly cherry, with wild berry notes. It is a youthful example, vibrant and uplifting, vinified in stainless steel. Pairs very nicely with grilled vegetables, tomato sauces and lighter meat dishes.
1 x Les Volets Pinot Noir, Haute Vallee de l'Aude 2022 (France) - £10.50 13%
Coming from the Pyrenean foothills near to Carcassonne and Limoux, this is a lovely fresh Pinot Noir with bright and elegant red berry fruit flavours. The nose shows raspberry, red cherry and a touch of undergrowth while the palate is soft and juicy with brilliant food-friendly acidity. Perfect to pair with ratatouille or sausage casserole, or serve lightly chilled and enjoy by itself.
1 x Domaine de la Chapelle Bizot Cuvée SB Chiroubles 2021 (France) - £15.49 12.5%
The Beaujolais Cru of Chiroubles has the region's highest altitude vines and produces light-bodied reds with wonderful fragrance and freshness. Red berries, lilac and cherry make for a very pretty bouquet, leading into a fresh and juicy palate with wild strawberry and cranberry notes supported by bright acidity. Silky fine tannin makes this a charmer on it's own or with charcuterie and light dishes.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
