This producer was established in California in 1967 by Joseph Swan. The operation is now run by Joseph's daughter and son in law. They are based in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma, and are perhaps best known for their wines made from Zinfandel and Pinot Noir, but they also have small parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. They operate a hands off approach to winemaking, preferring to see what nature has given them each year, then work out how to make the best wine they can, there is no fixed formula.
