To the east of its white cousin, Chapeau Rouge comes from Herault. The district, sitting right on the Med with plenty of sunshine which contributes to the delicious ripeness of the wine. Grenache and Carignan blend together for a crunchy wine that begs for drinking, very versatile and never cloying.
The nose offers floral aromas of jasmine, lychee, and honey notes. The floral notes reappear on the palate, along with apricot, and mandarin orange. Medium bodied with good concentration and a refreshing ripe fruit finish. A Thai fighting delight!
Its sweetness makes this wine ideal as an aperitif served with mild cheeses, ham, and dried fruit and nuts. It is also excellent paired with sushi and fresh fruit desserts.
Deep ruby-red in colour with vibrant aromas of redcurrant and blackberries, elegantly combined with mild notes of white pepper. Medium-bodied on the palate with silky ripe tannins and a long, broad finish. An elegant wine that is easy to drink.
