Leira Seca is a white wine blend made from Alvarinho and Trajadura grape varieties and these come from 10 hectares of vineyards planted in 15 parcels on the slope of Paderne near Melgaco, in the Alto Minho, the top Alvarinho growing region in Portugal. The vines are mostly over 20 years old, and are managed with a low input and on an environmentally friendly basis (minimal usage of insecticides, pesticides etc). The wine has a bright, clear citrus straw colour with greenish glints. The nose shows is fruity with aromas of lemon and lime citrus fruits. The palate is robust, yet elegant, with traces of tropical fruits, crisp freshness and a good, clean, lengthy finish.
Sparkling Portugese red, bursting with fruit and vibrancy. Delicious with cured hams, meats and quality bread.
This Valpolicella is ruby red in colour, with youthful highlights. Fragrant fruit with prominent notes of dark cherries are echoed by fresher hints of pepper and aromatic herbs, typical of Corvina and its genetic cousin Corvinone, the historic varieties of this appellation. When young, this Valpolicella is impressively lively and playful on the palate and will express greater delicacy and finesse with two or more years of ageing.
