Cabernet Sauvignon (43%), Merlot (33%), Malbec (13%) and Petit Verdot (11%). The different varieties are each sourced from different regions best suited to them - the Cabernet from bush-vines in Darling, the Merlot and Petit Verdot from Stellenbosch and the Malbec from the cool Botriver facing False Bay. The wine was matured in French oak, 40% new barrels, for 18 months before blending and bottling.
Understated and complex, very Bordeaux-like in style, with layers of cedar, tobacco and roasted red pepper mingling with mulberry, red cherry and blackcurrant fruit. Mouthfilling with supple tannins and a food-friendly drying finish, this will happily age longer in bottle if you desire but is absolutely delicious now, especially alongside game or mushrooms.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
