There have been Angerers producing wines in Austria's classy Kamptal region since 1848. Kurt is the fourth generation and his philosophy is all about making his wines sing of the vineyards they come from.
This big, exotic Gruner Veltliner radiates summer sun tempered by the cooling winds flowing down the Kamp river valley. It's fully dry, but richer and riper than many Gruners. Full-bodied and creamy, it's packed with soft pears and tropical fruit.
Perfect with spicy Asian dishes. The Ametzberg Riesling is a balancing act that deserves its own high wire. It fills the glass with sweet blossom and honeyed peaches, but slaps you up with a gorgeous jolt of acidity in the mouth. It's fantastic with fish now but will age for a good while yet.
