The 2021 Lindi Carien White Blend takes its grapes from an array of vineyards in the Western Cape.
35% Verdelho (from the oldest Verdelho block in South Africa)
21% Chenin Blanc (from Swartland),
19% Colombard (from Swartland )
18% Grenache Blanc (from Piekenierskloof which undergoes skin contact for 5 days)
7% Palomino (from Piekenierskloof vines which are as old as 1972 )
The grapes are gently whole cluster pressed and then the wine is matured for 10 months in old French barrels. It is bottled un-fined with coarse filtration.
The wine presents aromas of apple blossom, mandarin and fresh pear. There is a subtle impression of oxidation, lending a spicy, complex character and a waxy texture. Well balanced with a long mouthwatering citrus finish.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful.
