For Charles, winemaking is more than a craft, it’s a passion. His dedication to organic farming, rejection of herbicides, and respect for natural rhythms are central to his philosophy. In the cellar, he follows the lunar cycle, ensuring that each wine reflects the unique character of its terroir. His use of oak is carefully restrained, with only 25% new oak for the premier crus and just 10% for village wines, allowing purity and precision to shine through.
This Meursault is a beautifully complex and elegant expression of the appellation. The nose offers a refined balance of grapefruit zest bitterness, gentle floral honeyed notes, and a subtle smokiness. The palate is bright and fresh, with vibrant acidity, luscious stone fruit depth, and a long, textured finish. A wine of impressive complexity and structure, it promises to evolve beautifully for years to come.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
