The year was 1991, Sarah and Sparky Marquis had recently married after completing their wine making studies with the world at their feet. They had each other, they had $1000 between them and they had dreams of developing their own business.
Over the next few years, they went from strength to strength. They won the Bushing King and Queen Trophy for Best Wine in Show three times and were crowned Australian Boutique Winemakers of the Year, as well as Australian White Winemakers of the Year.
Success soon found them again as they were named Australian Winemakers of the Year in 1999. Global wine aficionado, Robert Parker from the Wine Advocate, described the wines they made as ‘The greatest red wine values in existence... Run, don’t walk and secure as much as you can of these wines!’ They were also named as one of Robert Parker’s ‘Top Wine Personalities in the World.’
The wine is a blend of 66% Shiraz and 34% Cabernet Sauvignon.
