When their parents retired in 2003, brothers Philippe and Bruno Colin agreed to split the family vineyards between them and each make their own wine. It turned out to be a fantastic decision, as both brothers have notable talent for winemaking in their own style. In 2021 Philippe passed on the majority of his vineyards to his own son, Simon, and now works just 5ha of vineyards alongside a small negociant line.
From the Cote Chalonnaise village of Montagny, this is a bright and fruity style of white Burgundy, with the typical lightness of touch of Philippe's house style. Made in three barrels, two used and one new oak, this has subtle creaminess to compliment the aromatic citrus (yuzu, lime) and soft white peach notes. Carries itself with the same distinction as the estate's wines in Chassagne, but is distinctly Montagny. A real treat for any white Burgundy lover and a dream to partner with seared scallops or dressed crab.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
