Jean Foillard is an icon of Beaujolais winemaking and a name synonymous with the beginning of the natural wine movement in France. Farming organically with respect for nature and making his wine without the use of cultured yeasts, enzymes or other additions.
The result are wines of beguiling purity, with silky red fruits, spice and floral notes. The 2021 Morgon has hints of pomegranate and rhubarb alongside sweet fresh strawberry and blackberry. With perfectly refined tannins and lovely fresh acidity it is perfect for drinking now with roast chicken or turkey but can also age happily for a decade.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
