Niepoort source the grapes for this wine from Favaios, a little parish north of Pinhao, at over 600m in altitude, renowned for it's Moscatel grapes. It is made in exactly the same way as their other white ports, with fortification part way through fermentation in lagar. The resultant wine is then aged in pipes before blending at around 5 years old.
A wonderfully aromatic wine, with sweet, ripe fruit flavours, some tropical notes and honied florals. Good acidity keeps it fresh and clean through the palate, and makes for a great dessert wine

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
