Fiano is a grape variety usually found in Campania, Southern Italy. Here the grapes are grown in Clarksburg, CA, Located right along the Sacramento river, the cool evenings, warm days and rich soils provide a spectacular environment for this Italian white to grow.
The small, relatively thick skinned grapes are hand-picked in the morning. The whole clusters are pressed to a temperature controlled stainless steel tank and after a long fermentation, the wine is transferred to neutral oak barrels for a short aging period on light lees with no stirring.
A complex wine with fresh apricot nose, which comes through on the palate. Luscious fruit with good acidity, fleshy apricot fruit, big flavour. Lovely concentration and grip.
Lovely fresh Fiano, went great with seafood. Nice bit of acidity with a long finish and it was from California!
