Wine maker, owner Pascal, started Vina Marty in Chile in 2008. He was inspired by his experience at top producers Ch Mouton Rothschild, Opus One and Almaviva. His vision is to produce great and affordable Chilean wines.
Vina Marty make a range of different wines, from pockets of vines grown in different Chilean valleys. We are fans of their Carmenere which comes from the Central Valley, from vineyards which come with their own majestic backdrop, the Andes mountains. The wine is called Pacha which means earth or world, which highlights Vina Marty's respect for the environment, they farm their vineyards sustainably.
This Carmenere is a big wine, it has a deep colour, the nose and palate are packed with dark fruits, with hints of black pepper. It has been aged in oak which adds layers of vanilla and spice. This drinks really well now, but will continue to develop if kept for a few years.
