In most of the Langhe, the Nebbiolo grape takes pride of place. Pecchenino was one of few producers to experiment with planting Dolcetto in sites formerly reserved for Nebbiolo. Largely through the efforts of this estate, in 2005, Dogliani was awarded DOCG status.
The San Luigi is a joy to drink now with the fresh acidity and ripe black cherry fruit that makes it ideal with salami and osso bucco.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
