Petra ‘Hebo’ IGT Toscana, Tuscany 2016

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot. Named after the ancient Etruscan settlement ‘Ebo’ in Suveret, Petra is the Moreti family’s estate, their other being Bellavista in Franciacorta. Natural yeast fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by maturation in Slavonian oak. Finally the wine is aged in second and third passage French oak for ten months, before spending ten-months resting in bottle prior to release. Full bodied and powerful, with black cherry and blueberry, excellent balance and length, with a distinctive tangy blackberry finish.
