Recognised as one of the finest Chardonnays produced in Italy, Didacus is a wine dedicated to the founder of the Planeta winery, Diego Planeta. He was the first person to plant Chardonnay on the island of Sicily, the beginning of an incredible success story for this producer.
From a single vineyard on the shores of Lake Ulmo, in Menfi in the Southwest corner of the island. The clay-limestone soil here is perfect for Chardonnay, imparting the ideal balance of richness and acidity. All of Planeta's vineyards are farmed according to organic principles.
The fruit is deliciously poised between rich tropical and stonefruit with a lovely citric freshness. Subtle oak and creamy flavours add bold depth to the palate, which finishes with a refreshing minerality.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
