Ramey Wine Cellars was founded in 1996 by husband and wife team David and Carla Ramey after sixteen years making wine in Sonoma County. Over the years, the Rameys have helped pioneer winemaking techniques in California during a period when vinification by the University book was the norm.
Ramey's groundbreaking work with indigenous yeasts, lees ageing, malolactic conversion and barrel fermentation yielded a new California style that was pushed richness, lushness and silky smoothness to new heights. This is a benchmark style now emulated by many.
