Renieri Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2019

Renieri is an organic estate winery in Località Renieri in the south-east of the Montalcino region, Tuscany, Italy. Renieri Estate encompasses 128 hectares adjacent to the winery. It features 30 hectares primarily dedicated to Sangiovese for Brunello di Montalcino DOCG (6 ha) and Rosso di Montalcino (8 ha), along with French varieties like Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The volcanic soils with layers of schistous limestone and rock are typical, including terra rossa, clays, and calcareous tufa. Organic certification was achieved in 2017. The underground modern cellar spans 1,000 square meters, enabling gravity movement of hand-picked grapes for fermentation at 29º-31ºC in new stainless steel tanks, crucial for preserving grape skin yeast. 

Medium ruby ​​red. It opens with ripe fruit notes of redcurrants, wild cherries and dried raspberries, then grilled herbs and liquorice in the background. This Rosso is more powerful and opulent than many of its competitors, almost reaching the intensity of a Brunello. However, the aromas are more precise than one would expect from a young red wine. The delicate tannin has reached a certain maturity and finds a lively ally in the well-proportioned acidity, which keeps the development of flavours unchanged
