The name Leflaive carries an expectation with it to produce the best wines possible and cousin of the famed Anne-Claude in which Olivier co-owned Domaine Leflaive with does not disappoint on his own range of wines.
His winery has 15 hectares of his own vines in the Puligny area of Burgundy with the rest of his wines are fruit from other growers.
Compared to Domaine Leflaive there are more focussed on elegance and purity, they are top wines influenced by one of the greats in Burgundy.
Saint Romain Sous le Château, Olivier Leflaive 2017
This terroir is considered the most accomplished of the A.O.C. Saint Romain. Its exposure towards South-East and its limestone stony soil give a wine of personality mixing rich but subtle aromas. This cuvée is vinified from three distinct plots of different ages. 2017 was a serious vintage; a wine-makers vintage. A lively wine with saline minerality and a richness from the oak aging (20% new). Very elegant. Ideal with pâtés, terrines and potted meat
