Sauska is a family-owned winery with vineyards in two iconic Hungarian regions: Tokaj in the northeast and Villány in the southwest. Combining traditional practices with modern techniques, they cultivate both indigenous and international grape varieties, crafting wines using ambient yeasts and gravity-flow methods. Guided by a passionate and skilled team, they are dedicated to producing world-class wines that embody precision, elegance, and the essence of Hungary.
After rigorous hand selection, the Cabernet Franc grapes undergo gentle crushing and a brief cold soak in stainless steel tanks. A 28-day maceration process ensures the preservation of varietal character, followed by 17 months of aging in new and used French oak barrels.
The result is a wine of deep violet with ruby highlights, offering rich and complex aromas. Notes of tobacco, cardamom, clove, and cinnamon intertwine with ripe red berries, blackcurrant, raspberry, and blackberry. On the palate, the wine delivers silky tannins, remarkable length, and a captivating complexity.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
