The second vintage of this 50% Carignan, 48% Grenache and 2% Mourvèdre blend.
The carignan fruit is sourced from Matt and John Shinn in the Mokelumne River section of Lodi, Grenache from the Bessons, and Mourvedre from the Enz family. Together these parcels produce a wine of focused, high-toned, bright red fruit with an undercurrent of something more savory, wild, and dark. The wine is matured in neutral barrels before bottling without filtration.
Juicy, morish and fleshy. A very heady wine indeed.
