The Sepp Moser Estate comprises of 50 acres of vineyards in two prominent wine regions, Kremstal and Neusiedlersee. It is now run by Sepp's son Nikolaus, who produces an international range of varieties as well as the ever more important local varieties of Gruner Veltliner and Riesling in the Kremstal. All of his wines have been organic (and all estate wines biodynamic) since 2007
This wine is natural wine in every sense of the word. It's quite funky and wild but with enough balance and restraint to retain classic Grüner characters.
It is fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, then undergoes malolactic fermentation, on its lees. It is then bottled without any filtration or addition of sulphur.
This is a complex wine, and hazy when poured (just to warn you). It's full of baked fruits , white spice and savoury characters. It also has flavours of stone fruit with hints of pepper and flint in the mouth. The burst of citrus acidity gives depth and length to the textured, mineral palate.
