The Soalheiro is an old Butler's favourite and a very classy wine indeed. You can’t quite put your finger on why it’s so good but before you know it, the bottle is empty. Citrus colour with an intense aroma of tropical fruit and mineral notes.
The Alvarinho grapes come from two subregions of the Minho. Monção and Melgaço are situated right on the north-west border along the Minho river. The diurnal climate of hot days alternating with cold nights, allows for the maintenance of a fresh and fruity aromas and an acidity which lends poise and elegance to the resulting wine.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
